I am very satisfied with my experience at NAU. My advisor was always there to answer questions. I had the best professors. I like to learn on my own, so I think that is why I enjoyed the online learning environment. I did not mind the reading and writing. I enjoyed reading all of my books. I also love writing essays. I got A's mostly on all of my essays. I also loved doing the discussions. It did not matter to me that the professor was not involved in my learning or the discussions. I didn't want... I got accepted into grad school at NAU, but dropped, because I realized the program was not for me. It had nothing to do with NAU.

I enrolled in the Computer Information Technology graduate program. What drew me to the program was it was subscription-based where you take as many courses for 6 months. One pro is tuition is cheap & the program was flexible. You can take the courses & submit assignments whenever you want. The bad, it was mostly literature-based. The entire program is all writing papers. No lab or video lectures. How are you supposed to learn anything as technical as IT with no lab?? Each course required 12,000... Read More words!! I dropped the entire program & knew it was just a waste of time. Learned way more for my money's worth at a community college. If you enjoy writing papers or plan on getting a Ph.D., this program is for you. If you want hands-on learning with labs, better off also looking at another college. The professor has no clue about the subject matter. The course platform was frustrating to use & navigate. It did seem user-friendly at first, but the find the grade earned for each assignment took some searching.

I had a wonderful experience at NAU. The degree that I earned has more than prepared me for my future career. I love the fact that NAU provides a great deal of support and instruction for their students. They are very caring and attend to the needs of each individual students. NAU offers a wide variety of majors. They even have a video array of online degree options. NAU also has a low cost of tuition when compared to other public institutions. I completed my Bachelor's of Dental Hygiene through Northern Arizona Universities online program. I had a great experience and was able to complete my degree in a short amount of time and a low cost. I am so glad that I completed my degree. Although it is not required to have a Bachelor's degree to be a hygienist in the clinical setting, it is important to help set you apart from the many applicants. I think most of the other reviewers were correct, very unprofessional. When I started I was told my "mentor" would contact me regularly, but this particular subscription I haven't heard from her once. Also some of the professors seem like they don't even read any of my submissions. For instance, I handed in an essay and was given the score of 76, meaning I had to redo and resubmit. I ended up adding one more citation to the several already in the paper and handed it in again. I eventually heard back... Read More a month later with the score of 98. It's amazing how adding one quotation can raise my grade to an A. This isn't the first time I had to wait over a month to get my paper graded. Also getting feedback on your projects can be like pulling teeth. It seems like they delay you in anyway possible to siphon more money out of you. This will be my last subscription. I have wasted enough money on this school.

This school and everybody associated with it is nothing but a complete and utter joke. At times, the entire school felt like it was a scam. Sure, the advisors would do just about ANYTHING in order to get you to sign up. But as soon as I was enrolled, forget about it. I no longer mattered. The law program at the school? You might as well just swallow a law book for all of the good it does you. Once I was actually enrolled, people became less than helpful towards me. I wanted to complain about my awful first semester, so I went to the office of the councilor that I'd spoken with before enrolling. It was literally empty. I tried to call her, and let's just say that the things that she said to me, if I'd said those things in literally any circumstance, my mom would have washed my mouth out with soap! Everybody who had seemed beyond friendly towards me before I'd enrolled suddenly turned into horrible trolls who wanted nothing at all to do with me. If you value your sanity, and enjoy actually learning rather than wasting thousands upon thousands of dollars, I would recommend just about literally anywhere else.
