Park University

It was always impossible to get ahold of every advisor I ever had. Throughout the couple of years that I attended Park, they switched my advisor several times. Anytime I needed them they never would answer any of my phone calls are emails, even when the situation was urgent it would take at least a week to hear from anyone. Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration in 2008 from Park University. Most of the classes I took were online and during that time, I was on Active Duty with the US Army. It was very convenient taking classes online especially considering the fact that I had to work nights. I was able to get assistance with my degree plan with counselors on site at Fort Irwin, CA and did not have any problems registering for classes or completing class work. Attending Park University was a horrible experience! I actually left the program part of the way through. Financial aid department was unorganized and unfriendly. They still send statements stating that I owe them money. I spoke with several school districts regarding the program and none of them were interested or thought it would be beneficial. I was advised to stick with my past Master's degree and teaching experience. The instructors did not care and the online curriculum (especially in the research... Read More class) was not relevant. When I went to withdraw, they just said okay. No retention efforts or problem solving strategies at all.

Excellent Non-for-Profit private school. The school is completely affordable for working students. It offers online programs, blended courses and in campus courses; the school adapts to the student's needs regarding the method of learning. The main campus located in Parkville Missouri is a beauty, and a real campus for those students that want to experience the student living on campus and face to face interaction. Read More of the main campus, they provide blended courses; due to their nature they might not offer all the degree classes on site; they do offer some classes in campus like math and other classes that require a one to one interaction with a professor. All the instructors I received classes had either a PhD in the field or a Master's degree. Some professor give classes at recognizes Universities and impart classes at Park University as an extra work which make it ok since you get instructions from a recognized professor. For military members the school provides a huge discounts rate. I had a great experience attending and graduating from Park University. When ever I needed help the University's staff always helped me, even when my questions were small or I was wrong. The Center Director's get involve when a student needs help. You can interact easily with your campus Center Director; this gave me the feeling of a close relationship between me and the University. Due to the University's close relationship with the military most of my classmates where military service members or veterans. I had classes with students in the ranks of SPC to SGM.

Park University was an excellent school to attend and would recommend it to future students of all ages and across the nation. This University was recommended to me by my father-in-law who graduated in 1994 to attend this school, he helped guide me through my college career path with this university. I felt that Park was an extremely military friendly school. The staff at the local support officer were amazing at helping solve problems that came up. I was able to complete my degree in 4 years by taking online accelerated courses which I was able to schedule around deployments. The course that I took were challenging but easily doable for online courses. I was able to take 100 percent of the courses I needed online which was a big plus for me. Completed my bachelor's in Criminal Justice Security from Park in 2014. Very challenging and their was a lot of writing involved. The school also required an internship, which I was afforded the opportunity by Command Officer. Loved Park experience so much that I chose to enroll in the MBA program.
